CRA Series at Berlin
The CRA Super Series will be back in town for the second time in 2009 to run the Radisson of Grand Rapids 125. Brian Campbell will be trying to win for his third time at Berlin in 2009. There are 23 cars signed up and ready to try and end the Campbell domination at Berlin! CRA point leader Johnny VanDoorn is coming to Berlin with hopes to extend his point lead in front of his hometown fans! The Young Guns will be back this weekend with Kelsey Steele looking to add to her 95 point lead over Dalton Haney. Dan Reimersma and Ben Kleis will battle it out for the #1 spot in the Burnips Equipment 4-Cylinder Points standings as Ryan Hamm and Jason Scheid look to jump over both of them to take the top spot. It should be an exciting weekend of racing at Berlin Raceway! Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for kids.

Crystal Motor Speedway Rains Out As Features Start!
The rain had hit all around the track Saturday night at Crystal Motor Speedway but just as the first feature was about to start, the rains
began again and after a delay in the program, the event was called due to wet conditions. The Flinn Stocks had just taken the field for the first feature of the night, when the clouds opened. The event was sponsored by ASAP Sales and Service.
The rained off features will be run first thing next week before our normal show of all six divisions. Next week will be sponsored by by
Blake Hollenbeck Auto. Gates open at 4:30 and racing will start promptly at 7:30 PM. Adult admission to the grandstand will be $10 and kids 5-11 are $4. Pit passes are $25. Call the track at 989.235.5200 or visit the website at crystalmotorspeedway.com for more information.

Track Worker Injured at Hartford
(Post From MSTRC Message Board)
Friday Night, a track worker at Hartford Motor Speedway was critically injured when he was thrown from the safety truck. The truck was entering the track after a wreck during the mod feature, got a little side ways and hopped the top of the berm, throwing the man from the back of the pick up. He landed awkwardly and was rushed to intensive care where I understand he is likely extreme critical condition on life support and is in grave condition.
It reminded me that last Saturday at Owosso Speedway a racer pulled up to the flag stand to "have words" with a track worker and squeezed him within 12 inches of the wall. When he peeled out to go back into the pits (where he went about 45 mph through the pits) he nearly crushed the guy between his car and the wall.
Please folks... be careful out there. Safety & Track workers have one of the more dangerous, less appreciated jobs at any race track and are woefully under compensated for the commitment and dedication they give racing. Please give these guys a break when you are out there.. they are just doing their job. As a driver, remember, its a hobby and its suppose to be fun. Save your emotion till you are off the track and out of your car. If you can't do that, you shouldn't be out there.
And if you are a track and/or safety crew worker, please be careful out there.
The balance of the evenings racing card was cancelled due to the severe nature of this accident and UMP Modifieds & UMP Factory Stock A Mains were postponed until next weekend, August 7th.
